International Students and Austrians with Foreign University Entrance Qualification

You can use the following application to enter your data if you have already been admitted (admission letter) to University of Graz in the frame of the application process for international students & Austrians with a university entrance qualification from abroad.

Important! This is not an online application or registration - an online application is not possible!

International students (this includes Austrians with a foreign university entrance qualification such as Matura, High School Diploma, university degree) have to apply in written form. Please refer to our information on the application process.

New Students

If you have never been enrolled at University of Graz, you need to fill out the acquisition of registration data application.

Please enter your personal data and select the intended study programme for which you have applied and received an admission from us.

Fill out information

The acquisition of registration data application for enrollment is available in English and German language.

At the beginning of the data acquisition, a processing code will be generated. When you have finished entering your data, you may either print out this number or, if you don’t have a printer, e-mail it to your own e-mail address. You will need this number in case you want to make any changes to your data and for registration at Academic Affairs.

Appointment/Academic Affairs Date: For intrenational studnets, it is not possible to chose an appointment. After positively participating in the applciation process, you can simply come during the opening hours with all necessary documents (see below) to enroll personally.

Registration number: you are required to state your Austrian student ID number if you have already been enrolled at an Austrian university (except universities of applied sciences or university colleges of education) e.g. in a study programme, an exchange semester, a summer school, a preparatory course of an Austrian university.

Social insurance number: the Austrian Social Insurance Number is required. If you do not have it, please do not fill in any other number.

Type of Secondary School: if you accomplished your academic degree or finished your school outside Austria, you need to choose:

  • in case of application with secondary school leaving certificate “foreign secondary school leaving exam”
  • in case of application with academic degree “foreign post-second. educ. inst.”

Important! Although Austrians with a foreign university entrance qualification are able to select an appointment, registration is not possible right away. First of all, an application as international student is required. Within the application process your university entrance qualification will be checked.

At the end of the data capture, you will find a list of documents for the registration. These documents will only be requested from applicants with an Austrian university entrance qualification.

As an international student, you already submitted the required documents within your application.

The following documents, after completing the data capture, must be presented at Academic Affairs:

  • Admission letter
  • Processing Code
  • Passport

Please note that you have received an information sheet with your admission letter regarding registration. Please read this thoroughly especially if you have no proof of German language knowledge yet.
