Important
We would like to point out that according to the Austrian University Act (Section 60, Paragraph 6), applications may only be submitted by the applicants themselves or by a person who is authorised to professionally represent parties in Austria. Applications submitted via an agency, for example, will be rejected!
Only complete (with all necessary documents) applications for admission can be considered for admission. Submitting incomplete applications can lead to longer processing times and further to the rejection of the application!
Translation
If the original document has not been issued in English or German, a translation into German or English is mandatory.
The translation has to be issued by a sworn translator! We accept translations issued by a sworn translator from Austria as well as from other countries.
Here, for example, you can find sworn translators in Austria.
The translation must be uploaded as one PDF together with the corresponding original document.
Legalisation
Foreign documents generally only give the same evidential value as domestic public documents if they hold the mandatory legalisation form on the original documents. The necessary legalisation depends on the country the document was issued in.
Detailed information about the necessary legalisation can be found here.
Information about restricted master's programmes
Some master's programmes at the University of Graz are restricted master's programmes.
This means for these programmes an additional entrance procedure has to be accomplished. Based on the entrance procedure, it will be evaluated whether or not an entrance exam will be necessary (depends on the number of registrations during the entrance procedure).
The entrance procedure takes place once a year. The positive participation in the entrance procedure is valid for one academic year (winter semester and the following summer semester).
The entrance procedure is overseen by a different offices. For more information about procedure, please contact the responsible office.
The registration to the entrance procedure and the application in the Academic Affairs Office are independent of each other. This means the application in the Academic Affairs Office is possible before the participation in the entrance procedure.
Participants who completed the entrance procedure positively will receive a confirmation about that (f.e. Studienplatzzusage). This confirmation is required for the enrolment to the study programme. It is not necessary for the application to the study programme.
For international students who have to participate in the preparatory course of the Vorstudienlehrgang, this means they need to keep in mind to do the entrance procedure for the academic year they will finish the preparatory course.
