When do I submit my documents?
Please note the deadlines and information on the homepage for international students
Incomplete documents will result in your application being rejected. You will not be able to reapply for the same degree programme in the same semester. Therefore, do not apply until you have all documents, certifications and proof of language proficiency.
How do I register?
- Choose a degree programme from the degree programmes offered by the University of Graz and check at the same time whether you meet all the requirements for admission.
- Please note that enrolment on a degree programme with admission regulations is only possible after you have successfully completed the admission procedure! This also applies to the Bachelor's degree programme in Teacher Education!
The application review is an administrative procedure. This means that it involves legal requirements that must be met by the applicant and the university. This includes first checking the formal requirements (e.g. required certifications) and only then are the content requirements checked.
We would therefore like to point out that an application should only be submitted if you fulfil the necessary formal requirements. Applications that do not fulfil these requirements will lead to a longer process and may have to be rejected.
To pre-register for a degree programme, two steps are necessary:
Step 1: Create a basic account
Step 2: Enter data and submit documents
Here you enter your personal data, your desired degree programme(s), upload the necessary documents under online application and then submit them.
Please note: It is not possible to save the application temporarily.
In the Information sheet on the submission and admission process you will find the exact steps as well as important information on admission.
After you have completed the online application, uploaded and sent all required documents, log in to UNIGRAZonline as an applicant after receiving the email (the processing time by the study department depends on the complexity of the application) and download the "Application for enrollment" in the "My applications" application - in the "Show application status" column (self-service view). Please check the data for accuracy, sign the application (mobile phone signature or handwritten) and send all pages of the application immediately by email to studienabteilung(at)uni-graz.at.
The final steps for actual enrollment can only be taken once the signed "Application for enrolment" has been received.
If the "Application for enrolment" is received outside the specified deadline - which is displayed in the self-service view - enrolment for the semester in question is not possible under any circumstances!
Once the signed "Application for Enrolment" has been received by the Student Administration Office, you will be sent the details for payment of the statutory tuition fee or student union fee as well as some information sheets by email.
Each semester, the prescribed tuition fee or ÖH fee must be paid on time so that your enrolment can be continued. You can find the prescribed fee for the semester in question in UNIGRAZonline in the application "Tuition fee status" - invoice amount.
All further information on tuition fees and ÖH fees can be found on our homepage.
As soon as the tuition fee or student union fee has been credited to your tuition fee account - approx. 3 to 5 working days after the transfer - your registration for the current semester will be processed and you will receive a PIN code to activate UNIGRAZonline by e-mail .
You can then go to the UNIGRAZonline homepage at https://online.uni-graz.at ( Students - Enter your PIN code here)
activate your UNIGRAZonline account. To do this, enter the PIN code you received by e-mail, your matriculation number and your date of birth. The system will then automatically assign you your e-mail address and, after you have set a password, your personal account in UNIGRAZonline will be activated.
Please make sure you remember your account details (e-mail address and password), as these are required every time you log in to UNIGRAZonline. The PIN code is only to be used when logging in for the first time.
The UNIGRAZCard is the official student ID (photo ID according to § 60 para. 4 UG) of the University of Graz.
- After activating your UNIGRAZonline account, you can check your data and apply for your UNIGRAZCard under the link "Application for student card".
- You must first upload the photo in your UNIGRAZonline account (application "Unicard Image upload") (passport photo format, high resolution). Please note that you must be clearly recognisable in the photo so that the card can be issued.
- There are 2 ways to obtain the UNIGRAZCard:
- You can select the "Collect from kiosk yourself" function when applying for the card. You will then receive a QR code and can use it to issue the UNIGRAZcard yourself in the foyer of the University Library (UB). You are then not bound to the opening hours of the study department.
- Select "Application for student card" - the card will be ready for collection four to five working days after you have applied for it. You can then collect the UNIGRAZCard in person from the Student Services Department by making an appointment and presenting an official photo ID (passport, identity card or driving licence).
Please note: The first issue of the card is free of charge; in the event of loss, theft, damage or changes to the data, a fee will be charged.
