Re-registration to a study programme/Payment
Re-registration for one or more regular studies at the University of Graz takes place automatically if the semester fee has been paid properly, completely and within the admission period (in a winter semester 31.10. or in a summer semester 31.03.) to the account of the University of Graz.
If the fee is paid at another educational institution (other university, FH and PH), there is NO automatic re-registration for studies at the University of Graz. Here you can find a guideline for re-registration.
The ÖH fee (student fee) must be paid by all regular and non-regular students without exception. This also applies to students who are exempt from paying tuition fees!
Students who already have to pay the tuition fee plus the ÖH fee because they have exceeded the minimum period of study must pay the full amount within the admission period. Re-registration will only take place if the full amount has been credited to the account of the University of Graz within the deadline.
Payment Information
The payment information for the semester fee can be found each semester by the students themselves via the UGO account, under Tuition fee status. The tuition fee status shows you the payment deadline (admission deadline) and the invoice amount, information on whether you are still exempt from the tuition fee or not, the option of online payment by credit card - debit card/bankomat card or EPS transfer, incoming payments (if already available) and the account details if you still wish to pay by payment slip or via online banking.
Missing re-registration despite payment
If you have already paid the fee to the account of the University of Graz more than 7 working days ago, please send us the proof of payment by e-mail so that we can investigate.

FAQ
** Students who are doing a regular degree programme at the University of Graz but are paying their tuition fees or Austrian National Union or of Students membership fee at a different university or University of Teacher Education.**
The continuation of studies is NOT done automatically! The continuation of studies needs to be done by 31st March for summer semester and by 31st October for winter semester at the latest by yourself in UNIGRAZonline – Link “Continue registration for studies”. If the notification of continuation of studies is not done on time the admission to pro-grammes is terminated.
**Students who are studying at the University of Graz but have paid the ÖH fee at a university of applied sciences**.
Contributions paid at a university of applied sciences can now be partially covered. If only the ÖH fee is prescribed at the University of Graz and at the University of Applied Sciences, it only has to be paid once. You must re-register at the other educational institution. You must always re-register via Uni Graz Online. You can find instructions here. However, if the tuition fee (€ 363.36) is paid at the University of Applied Sciences, it cannot be paid by the University of Graz! It is absolutely necessary that the prescribed fee is paid again on time at the University of Graz! ** Co-registered students (NOT NAWI GRAZ and Musicology students as well as students in the Teacher Training program secondary level general education!) **
If you are registered at the University of Graz as a co-registered student (only taking individual courses) you have to submit the records of study from your “original” university to the Academic Affairs Office by 31st March 2025 for summer semester and 31st October for winter semester at the latest. The notification of continuation of studies is otherwise NOT carried out.
NAWI GRAZ students as well as students in the South-East Alliance (NEW Teacher Training program) do NOT have to submit a current record of study since the notification of continuation of studies is done automatically!
** Persons who complete a degree for which they pay tuition fees or complete a stage of a degree programme before 31st March for summer semester or 31st October for winter semester**
The tuition fee does not have to be paid if the degree for which one pays tuition fees is completed or terminated before 31st March for summer semester and 31st October for winter semester. Please get in touch with your examiner or your faculty to make sure your studies can be completed. If you have any doubts, pay your tuition fees!
Also, the tuition fee does not have to be paid if the completion of a stage of a degree programme of a diploma is entered by 31st March for summer semester and 31st October for winter semester. If you have any doubts pay your tuition fees!
