Master´s program

Not every completed degree automatically entitles the student to take up a Master's program at the University of Graz.

In many cases, the curriculum of the intended master's program provides information about which previous program authorises direct admission

Should your completed program not authorises  you for direct admission, we must check in the context of an application wether it is a subject-related program that may entitle you to commence the master's program of your choice.

International applicants as well as Austrian applicants with a degree obtained abroad must always submit an application for admission.

You can find more information about the application and deadlines under International Students.

Step 1: Creating an initial basic UNIGRAZonline account

Step: 2: Upload an application for the degree program

Step: 3: Further processing by academic affairs department

Once your application has been received, it will be checked for completeness. If your application is incomplete, you will be contacted by email to submit the missing documents.

As soon as the application is deemed formally complete, it will be forwarded to the responsible Curricula Commission (CuKo) for evaluation of the content. Based on the admission requirements listed in the curriculum, one of the following decisions will be made:

  • Admission without conditions

After receiving the statement, you will receive an automated email regarding "Application for enrollment". You can download the application under "My applications ► Actions ► Retrieve the status of my application ► Enrollment". Enrolment can be initiated during the respective admission period by submitting the signed application.

  • Admission with conditions

A legal proceeding will be initiated. You will receive an information letter (called "Parteiengehör") from our legal department. After receiving the Parteiengehör, you have the opportunity to submit a statement or to agree with the supplementary examinations by e-mail. Submitting a statement can speed up the issuing of the notification (Bescheid).  If there is no response from you, the notification (Bescheid) will be sent to you after the 14-day respond-period has expired. As soon as you have received your letter of admission, you can download the "Application for enrolment" under "My applications ► Actions ► Retrieve the status of my application ► Enrollment". Enrolment can be initiated during the respective admission period by submitting the signed application.

  • No admission
