Re-registration to a study programme/Payment

The re-registration for one or more study programmes at the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz is done automatically as soon as the fee is paid and arrives properly, in full and within the general admission period or the grace period at the bank account of the university of Graz.

The student union fee (ÖH fee) has to be paid without exception by all degree students as well as non-degree students. This includes students that are exempt from the tuition fee!

Students that have to pay the tuition fee plus ÖH fee based on exceeding the tuition fee free period, have to pay the full amount during the general admission period or the grace period. A re-registration is only possible if the full amount arrives at the university’s bank account within the deadline.

Payment Information

The payment information for the semester fee is available for every student each semester at the student’s UGO business card under: “Tuition Fees”. There you can find:

  • information about both payment deadlines (general admission period and grace period),

  • the amount of the semester fee,

  • information whether or not a student is exempt from the tuition fee,

  • the possibility to pay online per credit card ,

  • received payments (if already applicable),

  • and the university’s bank details in case you want to pay per payment slip or online banking

During the office opening hours and upon presentation of a valid ID, it is possible during the admission period to get a payment slip generated by the university in case you to want pay per payment slip. It is also possible to receive the payment slip per email.

FAQ

FAQ

**Students who are registered at the Universit of Graz for a degree programme but paid the tuition fee and/or the ÖH fee at another Austrian University or Teacher Training College**

The re-registration is NOT automatic! By the end of the admission period at the latest (winter semester = 31.10. and summer semester = 31.03.), you have to do the re-registration yourself at your UGO account – Link “Studien weitermelden” or come personally into the Academic Affairs Office. In case the re-registration is not done on time, you will be de-registered from your study programme or programmes.

Please keep in mind that if you already exceeded the tuition fee free period, you have to pay the tuition fees at the university you have to pay the higher amount.

Fees paid at the University of Applied Sciences cannot be taken into consideration.

Example: You are registered at the University of Graz and another University/Teacher’s Training College. At the University of Graz, you have to pay the tuition fee plus ÖH fee ( = € 384,56). At the other university, you only have to pay the ÖH fee ( = € 21,20). In this case, the semester fee must be paid at the University of Graz since this is the university you have to pay the higher fees. You have to inform the other university about the payment within the admission period or grace period in order to keep up the re-registration at the other university.

**Co-registered students (except NAWI Graz students, students of Musicology and students of the Teacher Training Programme for Secondary Level General Education**

If you are co-registered at the Karl-Franzens University (for attending individual courses), you have to hand in your Record of Studies of your home university of the current semester until the end of the admission period (winter semester = 31.10. and summer semester = 31.03.) at the Academic Affairs Office. Otherwise, a co-registration is NOT possible. You have to do this for each semester you want to keep up the co-registration!

NAWI Graz students, students within a study programme of the Lehramtsverbund SüdOst, and students of Musicology do not have to send the Record of Studies. Only for those students, a co-registration will be done automatically!
